Meet the Team Spotlight: Mike Correll
Outside Sales Rep Mike Correll’s professional career began in 1985 when he joined the Army Reserve during high school. He completed his Army Basic Training between his junior and senior year and upon graduation, returned to complete his technical training, followed by eight years of service as a HVAC specialist.
While serving his country, Mike continued his education in Trade School, obtaining his LA City and AWS D1.1 welding certifications. In the late-80s, Mike took a job with Shepherd Machinery, a CAT Dealership in Whittier, California, where he worked for 22 years.
“I started at the dealership as a welder/fabricator and cross-trained into the areas of line-boring and undercarriage repair,” shared Mike. “I later moved into management and sales positions.”
That experience helped Mike land an Outside Sales Rep position in 2010 with Cutting Edge Supply.
“Working for CES is like playing for an All-Star team,” said Mike. “There is a depth of talent and knowledge within our company as well as individual masters in specific product lines, making us the best wear solution providers for our customers.
“The Brenner family (Cutting Edge Supply’s ownership) has done a great a job of creating relationships with top-shelf product suppliers. We distribute for companies globally recognized such as Hardox, Esco, Weir Minerals, Hensley and several others. Also, Cutting Edge’s continued expansion in shop tooling has placed us at an unmatched level of shop capabilities and added values. These types of advantages offer confidence when sitting face to face with customers, knowing we are the best at what we do.”
Currently coverings Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties, Mike also feels fortunate to work in a very diverse territory including scrapyards, landfills, construction, crushing, aggregate and farming.
“I enjoy meeting people and observing how different companies maintain and operate their equipment,” said Mike. “One of my favorite projects was the demolition of Hollywood Racetrack and the construction of So-Fi Stadium. Watching this project from cradle to grave was amazing and being able to support the numerous companies that worked at this site was only possible because of the added values we offer here at CES.”
Away from the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his family. His hobbies include watching sports, golfing, fishing and music.
“I have been blessed with four amazing children and one beautiful granddaughter,” shared Mike. “I have been in this business a long time and consider many of my customers friends. Over the years we have seen our families grow-up and most of us are now grandparents.”
