Meet the Team: Chase Brenner

 

A summer stint during college gave Outside Sales Rep Chase Brenner the basic nuts and bolts of what it was like to work at Cutting Edge Supply. As in, literally.

 

“I spent one summer twisting bolts,” says Chase. “It could get very monotonous, but now that I understand the insane amount of hardware we sell, I realize just how incredibly important those seemingly smaller jobs are to the overall success of the company.”

 

As a kid, Chase was obsessed with construction and mining equipment and had a vast toy collection of dozers, excavators and dump trucks.

 

“I loved all the heavy equipment machines and had all of the toys when I was little,” said Chase. “I always thought it was so cool that my dad (Hoby Brenner, head of sales at Cutting Edge) was part of a family-owned business that actually sold the wear parts for the real thing. Growing up I wasn’t aware of the full scope and capabilities of what Cutting Edge had to offer, but after that first summer working there, it was something I really wished to pursue.”

 

After graduating from Texas Christian University in 2019 with a BA in communications and a minor in business, the So-Cal native was eager to join Cutting Edge Supply full-time in any capacity.

 

“I started out as a delivery guy based out of the San Diego location and then was moved into Inside Sales,” said Chase. “That period served as a crash course as I learned the entire product line, which is pretty massive across GET, crushing, screening, wear plate, and more.”

 

By the end of 2020, Chase relocated to Las Vegas as an Outside Sales Rep. As well as Vegas, his territory includes parts of Arizona such as Bullhead, Havasu and Kingman.

 

“I feel like a kid again when I pull into some of my customer sites,” said Chase. “It’s really fascinating to see these giant haul trucks, 992 loaders picking up material and the intricacies of crushing. You literally see them moving mountains.”

 

As much as he enjoys the chance to observe, his ultimate mission is to deliver cost-saving solutions to his customers.

 

“I’ll do whatever it takes for my customers because I feel like in a way, I’m an employee right alongside them, and they are relying on me to get the job done and remove roadblocks,” said Chase. “Our drafting team at Cutting Edge is unbelievable. We have such a talented group of people in the shop and the work they do in building these buckets from scratch is truly incredible. So, when I’m able to swap a bucket that we’ve fabricated or restored, I know it’s going to be a win for the customer and it’s really fulfilling to see Cutting Edge Supply help another business to succeed.”

 

Chase also feels incredibly blessed and inspired by the opportunity to contribute to the Brenner’s family-owned business.

 

“What John and Hoby and the rest of their team have done to grow this business is incredible,” said Chase. “It’s a steep challenge to follow in their footsteps, and it means the world to me to be part of this well-oiled team.”

 

Outside of the office, Chase is a sports fanatic who regularly works out and plays basketball whenever possible. But most of all, he loves spending time with his son Jett, who will turn two in February.

 

“The love I feel for that little human is insane,” said Chase. “You can’t beat being a father. It’s definitely #1 on my list.”
